Head Veterinary Surgeon
Phillip joined Ark at the end of November 2020. He qualified in 2001 and since then has been working in a large small animal practice in Eastbourne. He has particular interests in dentistry, emergency medicine but enjoys all aspects of the job. He shares a cat called Pancake with his partner. He is looking forward to meeting all your furry family members


Eliska (Eli) Bortlova DVM MRCVS
Eliska graduated veterinary university in Czech republic and moved to the UK in 2019. She lives in Seaford with her partner and three lovely rescue cats, Mischa, Thetis and Ares. She has an interest in exotic animal medicine and in her free time she enjoys reading crime novels. Eliska prefers to be called Eli.


Dr Ángel Canete Pizarro MRCVS
Ángel graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2017. He did a few externships in non-teaching hospitals and worked in small animal practice in Spain before he decided to pursue his dream of building a career as a veterinary surgeon in the UK. He is interested in all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery, but particularly in cardiology and feline medicine.
Outside of work Ángel is passionate about music and singing, and enjoys cooking new recipes, hiking, and yoga.

Hayley Sluijters MRCVS
Hayley qualified with a Masters Veterinary degree from Ghent University in Belgium and has always loved animals. She also carries a degree in Fine Arts and Design and has always been creative, enjoying art projects and sewing in her spare time. Hayley lives in Haywards Heath with her partner and two naughty (and wonky) rescue cats 'Dille' and 'Casper'. She has special interests in ophthalmology cases, diagnostic imaging and medicine.
